Wyoming Age Verification Law, also known as Wyoming House Bill 43 (HB 43), is a state law that requires websites with material deemed harmful to minors, such as only-adult content sites and platforms, to verify that users are at least 18 years old before allowing access online. Ultimately, underage users are not allowed to enter sexual content and all linked sites to such material online without a proper age verification process. The law became effective July 1, 2025, meaning platforms were required to implement age‑verification measures by this date.
In practice, age-restricted platforms need to block access to users who are from Wyoming based on their IP address information. Then, an age verification process should be triggered. Age is often verified by asking the user to upload a government-issued ID document, such as a passport or a driver’s license, and then submit a quick selfie, so that the system can match that the person submitting the document is the same person doing the live selfie. This way, minors can’t take their relatives’ or friends’ documents and bypass the process. In compliance terms, this sort of age check works like document verification and biometric verification for Know Your Customer (KYC) onboarding.
